Analysis View is part of Channeltivity's built-in reporting capabilities and allows you to gain insights by analyzing various data in your PRM and partner portal. This article explains how to use Analysis View to create your own charts, graphs, and pivot table reports.

Note: If you're just getting started with reporting in Channeltivity, please read the reporting overview first.

Switching to Analysis View

Lister pages can be configured to display data in the following formats:

  • Table Layout- allows you to view items on the page in a list format
  • Map Layout - gives you a visual representation of all of your records on a geographical map. Please note that not all record types support the Map View
  • Bar Chart Layout (Analysis View) - shows a bar chart or pivot table with a snapshot of your data
  • Timeline Chart Layout (Analysis View)- shows a line chart or pivot table with activity over time

Switching to the Bar and Timeline Chart Layouts reveals additional settings on the right-hand side. The different page components are:

  • Filters (left) - this is where you filter the data that is used for your report. In the example below, we're only looking at Deal Registrations in the Europe Region.
  • Chart (center) - this is where the bar chart is displayed.
  • Settings (right) - this is where you configure Analysis View (continue scrolling for a more in-depth explanation)

You can update your filters and settings to see the results change in real-time.

Bar Chart Settings & Examples:

The Bar Chart Layout shows a bar chart or pivot table with a snapshot of your data. Use the settings on the right to specify how you want to slice your data and configure your chart. These are your options:

  • View: Switch between chart and pivot table view. The pivot table allows you to see the numbers behind the chart, e.g.

  • Bar Data: Select which field to use to split the data. The example uses the "Stage" field, so the chart includes a bar for each sales stage:

  • Stack Data: Further break down your data by any field you choose to create a stacked bar chart. Here we selected "Account Country" in the Stack Data picklist to show a breakdown by country:

  • Sort Bars By: Allows you to change the sort order of the bars in the bar chart.
  • Series: Display multiple bars by adding more series to your chart. If we add the "Amount Avg" series and make sure it's displayed on a different axis:

    It will look like this:

Timeline Layout Settings & Examples

The Timeline Layout shows a line chart or pivot table with activity over time.

The settings on the right-hand side are where you specify how you want to slice your data and configure your timeline chart. These are your options:

  • View: Switch between chart and pivot table view. The pivot table allows you to see the numbers behind the timeline, e.g.

  • Time Frame: Specify the time period that you want to display. In the example above, we're looking at Deal Registrations, where the Close Date is way back in 2018.
  • Time Unit: Select how granular you want to get with viewing the data. Instead of viewing one data point each quarter (see above), you could also look at weekly data and see a completely different picture. Use the paging control (red arrow) to page through the data points or view them all in one timeline graph:

  • Series: Display multiple values by adding more series to your timeline. Let's dig a little deeper by looking at the series called "Amount Sum, Close Date". The name includes the field that we're calculating ("Amount"), the operation ("Sum") and which date should be used to plot the value ("Close Date"). This means we will split all Deals by Close Date, sum up the Deal Amount for each Deal with the same Close Date and then display it on the timeline.
Let's add another series, this time for "Count, Close Date", which shows how many Deals we have for each Close Date. We should also select a different axis for each of the series:

And this is what it looks like:
