The Email Marketing module includes built-in analytics that provide a real-time view into partners' engagement with email messages. It allows you to measure the success of your Mailings by giving you the ability to track opens, clicks, unsubscribes, and more. You can then use that data to determine what is and isn't working and make adjustments to improve your overall campaign strategy.
Events:
The Events tab in the Email Marketing module tracks the Events that occur when emails are sent to recipients and the interactions that follow. Below is a quick breakdown of the different Event types:
- Sent – The email was sent to the recipient's email server.
- Opens - The User opened and viewed the email.
- Clicks – The User clicked on a News Item in the email.
- Each click is logged as a separate Event, so there will be more than one entry for a User that clicks on a News Item in an email more than once.
- Each click is logged as a separate Event, so there will be more than one entry for a User that clicks on a News Item in an email more than once.
- Dropped or Failed - Both statuses indicate that the email did not reach the recipient's inbox. (You can view your portal's Email Log for additional details.)
- Unsubscribed - The recipient unsubscribed from Marketing Emails after receiving the email.
Analytics:
You can access the Events tab and create your own custom Reports/Views by going to the Email Marketing module in the left navigation menu > Events. You can then search, filter, sort, and rearrange columns using the instructions listed in this article: How do I use Dynamic Reporting to create custom reports and Views?.
Note: It's important to note that each Event type is logged separately which means an Event is logged each time an email is sent, opened, and clicked.
You can also use the Analysis View to analyze, summarize, and calculate your data using bar charts, pivot tables, and timelines. Learn more about this topic here: How do I use Analysis View to Create Custom Chart and Pivot Table Reports?
