Channeltivity's Lead Distribution module allows you to send sales prospects to your Partners/Distributors. Partners/Distributors can then convert the Leads to Deal Registrations. Leads can be distributed to Partners/Distributors using several different methods. This article explains how to import Leads via CSV. For more import methods, check out the following articles:

Channeltivity's Lead Distribution module includes a built-in Lead Import Template. You can download the CSV template by going to the Lead Distribution module and clicking the “New” button > Lead Import via CSV.
You’ll then click the “Get Template” link to download the template and follow the instructions listed below for a successful import:
- Leave the column names intact
- Do not delete or reorder the columns in the template
- Fields marked as required cannot be left blank. Therefore, you will need to enter the appropriate data or make the fields not required by going to Settings > Lead Distribution > Lead Distribution Module Settings. For required custom fields, go to Settings > Lead Distribution > Lead Custom Fields. You can then make the fields required again, after the import.
- Date field format: YYYY-MM-DD
- Number values must use the 100.00 decimal format (without commas or currency symbols)
- The template also allows for the assignment of Leads to Partner/Distributor Users OR Partner/Distributor Organizations. Please note that this is optional, and Leads can also be assigned through the UI after the import.
- The below fields/columns in the template allow for the assignment of Leads to Users using the User’s email address OR User ID (not both).
- AutoAssignToUserEmail – Enter the email address of the Partner/Distributor User to whom you wish to assign the Lead.
- AssignedToUserId – Enter the User ID of the Partner/Distributor User to whom you wish to assign the Lead. You can obtain the User ID by going to the User’s account and copying the numerical value listed at the end of the page’s URL. For example, the ID for User: https://yourcompany.channeltivity.com/Partners/UsersAndContacts/27 would be 27.
- With the below Lead Distribution setting enabled (Settings > Lead Distribution > Lead Distribution Module Settings), you can assign Leads to Organizations instead of Users. The system will then assign the Lead to the first person from the Organization that opens the Lead.
- The “AssignedToOrganizationId” field/column in the template allows you to assign Leads to Organizations. You can obtain the Organization ID by going to the Organization and copying the numerical value listed at the end of the page’s URL. For example, the ID for Organization: https://yourcompany.channeltivity.com/Partners/95 would be 95.
- The below fields/columns in the template allow for the assignment of Leads to Users using the User’s email address OR User ID (not both).
- When you're done, if you're using Excel, make sure to save the template using "Save As..." and select "CSV (Comma delimited). "
After completing and saving the template, you can upload it to the Lead Distribution module by going to Lead Distribution > New > Lead Import via CSV > Upload File > Import.
Assigning Leads to Partners/Distributors in bulk:
You can assign Leads to Partners/Distributors via the Import Template using one of the methods listed above, or you can assign them through the UI after the import by selecting the checkboxes next to the Leads that you wish to assign to a specific User or Organization > Actions > Change Assigned Lead Owner.
You'll then select the Organization and User to whom you wish to assign the Lead > Save.
